Yo-kai Watch 2: Shinuchi Sells 1.2m Units During Opening Weekend

Famitsu reports that Level-5’s phenomenon hit – Yo-kai Watch 2: Shinuchi – has sold 1.2 million units during its opening weekend.

Hitting stores shelves on December 13, Yo-Kai Watch 2: Shinuchi has sold 1,211,918 units during two days of tracking. The tracked numbers does not include digital copies via the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

For comparisons sake, Yo-kai Watch 2; Ganzo & Honke sold approximately 1.3 million copies during its first weekend back in September.

The strong sales of Shinuchi comes at no surprise with reports of enthusiastic Japanese gamers lining up early morning to get themselves a copy.

Unfortunately, Yo-kai Watch 2: Shinuchi was not able to topple Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire which sold 1.6 million in its opening weekend.

Nevertheless, Level-5 should be ecstatic with the initial performance of Shinuchi. Level-5 has mentioned that they do have plans to unleash the Jibanyan craze in the west sometime during 2015.
