Today on Miiverse, director of Smash Bros – Masahiro Sakuria – has shared a glimpse of StreetSmash in Super Smash Bros. For 3DS. StreetSmash is the Streetpass functionality that has been integrated into Super Smash Bros. For 3DS. While details on this mode is scarce, almost non-existent, we do know that StreetSmash will reward players with in-game loot.
Judging from the screenshot and what was shown a few month ago – StreetSmash will be a Beyblade mini-game – whereby players control a spinning top with the essential goal being to knock the other players around.
Sakurai mentions that it is important to set-up this functionality as soon as you boot up the game; as you will want to connect with as many players to earn more loot.
“Pic of the day. Here’s a glimpse of StreetSmash. Make sure to set this up once you get the game. The more fighters you play against at once, the more loot you can earn.”
It will be interesting to see how this mode turns out and whether it is actually fun to play. We will have to find out when Super Smash Bros. For 3DS launches on October 3 in North America and Europe.
