Nintendo has issued a statement revealing the strong performance of their products during the month of September. Firstly, Nintendo has revealed that Super Smash Bros. For 3DS, which launched on October 3 in North America, has sold 705, 000 units. The digital sales have been better than expected, with 135, 000 digital copies of Super Smash Bros. For 3DS sold.
3DS harware sales are up 55% over August, with 140, 000 units sold in the month of September. “More than 140,000 units of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems were sold in September, an increase of 55 percent over sales in August,” said in a statement provided by Nintendo.
Nintendo revealed that Hyrule Warriors – which launched on September 27 – has sold 190, 000 copies. Meanwhile, Mario Kart 8 has sold 60, 000 units during the month, putting the lifetime sales at 1.2 million units. Subsequently, Wii U hardware sales has seen growth, with hardware total estimated to be around 89, 000.
Nintendo is optimistic for strong holiday sales with the release of Bayonetta 2, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and the Amiibo product range.
