The standard rule options make an appearance in Super Smash Bros. For Wii U. You will be able to customize matches by changing the Rules, Time Limit, Custom Fighters, Stage Choice, Damage Ratio, and Handicap. “Going clockwise from the top-left corner, here are the pictures that appear for Rules, Time Limit, Custom Fighters, Stage Choice, Damage Ratio, and Handicap.”

Considering that the Wii U is a much stronger hardware than the 3DS, Sakurai revealed that additional rules can be set at the beginning of the game. These additional rules are mostly UI (user interface) options, so you are able to set the options that best suit you while playing.
