Sakurai Details Mario Circuit Stage In Super Smash Bros. Wii U

Today on Miiverse, director Masahiro Sakurai has shared more information on the Wii U exclusive stage – Mario Circuit.

The stage – is of course – directly inspired by Mario Kart 8, modeled after Mario Circuit respectively. “Pic of the day. Here’s another new stage!! The Mario Circuit stage is modeled after Mario Kart 8, so the course flips upside down,” Sakurai wrote on Miiverse.

Just like in Mario Kart 8, the track goes upside-down with the jumping Shy Guys following suit. However, the physics will remain the same like any other stage.

“On the upside-down course, Shy Guys jump their karts upside-down too!! It’s amazing how the course twists on this stage. Of course, the gravity for the fighters will always go downward.”
