The internet has been rife with Super Smash Bros. DLC rumors and the latest whispers from the community continues to fans the flames of speculation. The latest round information from the data-mining by Shinyquagsire23 suggest that a total of 5 future DLC characters may be planned for Super Smash Bros. For Wii U and 3DS.
Extending from the discovery of victory music for Ryu and Roy within the coding of the latest update, there are claims that 5 additional “Mario’s” were added into the character database, which could serve as placeholders spots for upcoming DLC fighters.
The data-miners suggest that these generic Mario slots could be taken up by the already announced Lucas and the rumored Ryu and Roy. However, at this stage it is unclear on who could potentially grab the final two spots. In addition to this, potentially 7 stages could be added into Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, with one being a Kirby themed stage.
At the moment only two DLC characters have been announced for Super Smash Bros: Mewtwo (available April 28) and Lucas (around June/July). Nintendo has also opened a fighter ballot allowing fans submit a vote for a character to be considered a spot in the famous roster.
Considering that the ballot does not close until October, it may be a while until we know the full fighting roster for Super Smash Bros. 4.
