Amiibo have become the hottest product from Nintendo since the days of the Wii and the popularity of the figurines show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. A peculiar rumor has emerged that has provided some interesting insight on the popularity of one Amiibo and speculation on the upcoming Wave 5 Amiibo’s.
The rumors comes courtesy of a supposed verified and trustworthy Reddit user, Flapsnapple. Flapsnapple claims that the Jigglypuff Amiibo has become the fastest selling item in Targets online store history. When the product went live on the Target online store, Jigglypuff Amiibo quickly reached over one million page views according to the users. For comparisons sake, the previous record holder had a poultry 20,000 views.
Breaking more records, Jigglypuff Amiibo sold 500 units per minute becoming the fastest selling product in the retailers history. From my recollection, the Jigglypuff Amiibo is exclusive to Target stores, which may explain the abnormal demand and popularity.
In other tidbits, the Reddit user has suggested that Target will be getting another retail exclusive Amiibo from Wave 5. What Amiibo will be exclusive to target has yet to be revealed, but it is likely to be a SKU that will be in high demand.
Please note that this is still a rumor, but it does seem legitimate.
