Pokemon Shuffling Announced For Mobile Platforms

To the surprise of no one, Nintendo and the Pokemon Company has announced that Pokemon Shuffle will be released for Mobile.

Originally released for the 3DS as a free-to-play title, the connect-three puzzle game is due for release on iOS and Android devices later this year.

Pokemon Shuffle has surpassed 4.5 million downloads on the 3DS eShop, so it is likely will be the game that will test the waters of the mobile market for Nintendo.

The game is free-to-play title, but it does have a number of restrictions that encourages micro-transactions. Given that the F2P model is preferred in the mobile space, it is likely that Pokemon Shuffle will be far more successful and lucrative for Nintendo and the Pokemon Company.

Do you think mobile will be a lucrative venture for Nintendo? Is Pokemon Shuffle the right game to test the waters? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
