Despite its intimidating exterior, Mega Swampert is somewhat a disappointment. Don’t get the wrong idea here, M-Swampert is by no means a bad Pokemon. In my, opinion it lack the extra factor to be a menacing threat in the metagame. Regardless of its shortcomngs, Mega Swampert has a number of perks and quirks that make him a good Pokemon for your team.

Rain Dance Mega Swampert @ Swampertite
Nature: Adamant Ability: Swift Swim EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
- Ice Punch
- Rain Dance
This set reminds me of the early Agiligross that was plaguing the early D/P metagame. By that I mean, both builds require the speed boost from set-up and both hid hard late game. Utilizing Mega Swamperts Swift Swim Ability, one Rain Dance effectively doubles the steroid using amphibian speed to decent levels, with the added bonus of powering up Water attacks. Waterfall and Earthquake are impressive stabs that compliment each other quite well. Ice Punch is necessary for Dragon and Grass-type, whom otherwise will wall you. This set will run into trouble when against Ferrothorn and Gyarados, so it is important to carry a check.
