Nintendo have announced that they will be partnering Universal Parks & Resorts to bring to life the world of Nintendo to Universal Theme Parks.
The partnership entails a development of “spectacular” and “dedicated” experiences based on Nintendo games, mascots and characters for Universal theme parks across the globe.
“Universal theme parks offer incredibly popular, innovative themed family entertainment experiences based on compelling stories and characters – using powerful storytelling and innovative technology. Nintendo has created remarkable and imaginative worlds filled with captivating stories and beloved characters. Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways – only at Universal theme parks.”
Nintendo is using the partnership to expand its reach and popularity of its characters and intellectual property beyond the video game realm. This is a part of Nintendo’s previously announced strategy to expand its use of its intellectual properties in fiscal year 2013.
A specific time frame and concepts for the Nintendo themed Park attractions will be announced in the future.
