In the last investor meeting, President of Nintendo Tatsumi Kimishima confirmed that there will be at least one Nintendo Direct that will be aired in the calendar year. Furthermore, Kimishima confirmed Directs will have a new format. When it will be shown, what will be shown and how it will be delivered has Nintendo fans eagerly anticipating the new Nintendo Direct.
Personally speaking, I’m desperate for a Nintendo Direct as it seems like an eternity has passed since the last one aired. At this point of the year, I’m tired of reading boring press releases and watching the average trailer. I want a Nintendo Direct and want bombs to be dropped.
Given that the next Nintendo Direct will be the first in some months, I expect a substantial amount of information that will be shared during the broadcast. Expect tons of information and expect surprises.
To get fans excited about the next Nintendo Direct, I have decided to create a short series covering a number of predictions for the upcoming ND.
Prediction #1: Pokemon Go Beta
For my first prediction, I expect Nintendo and the Pokemon company to disclose more information on the highly ambitious mobile game, Pokemon Go. More specifically, I predict a Pokemon Go information blowout with Nintendo going through extensively gameplay mechanics, social features and more importantly the close beta.
It has been reported that Nintendo and the Pokemon company will be hosting a close beta in Winter 2015, which has quickly crept towards us. With only a few weeks left in 2015, it is only logical to assume that the details for the close beta will be disclosed during a Nintendo Direct. There are quite literally millions of Pokemon that want in to be in the chance to be the first people in the world to play Pokemon Go. I know a number of people that would sell there souls just to get into the close beta. I personally would do things that I swore I would never to get into the Pokemon Go Close Beta. For the sake of my friends sanity, my dignity and the well being of million of Pokemon fans that Nintendo finally give details about the beta.
Prediction #2: Release Dates Galore
Not so much a prediction, but more like a given; I expect Nintendo to finally announce details for a number of highly anticipated titles. Games that have tentative 2016 launch dates will have confident release dates. Fans the are anticipating Hyrule Warriors Legend, Fire Emblem Fates, Star Fox Zero, Mario & Sonic, Pokken Tournament and Genei Ibun Roku #FE will be able to mark their 2016 calendars.
I’m most looking forward to playing Fire Emblem Fates, Star Fox Zero and Genei Ibun Roku#FE ( or whatever they decide to call out in the west). Especially Fire Emblem Fates as its predecessor is one of the best games of this generation.
