Legendary video game developer, Shigeru Miyamoto, has revealed that Mario Maker for the Nintendo Wii U will feature online community features.
Speaking to YouTube personality – iJustine – Mr. Miyamoto revealed that Mario Maker will allow users to watch other players test out your homemade course, which essentially confirms online sharing. In addition to the spectator mode, Mario Maker will feature online rankings for the most popular user generated stages (at the 2:40 mark).
You’ll be able to see what happens when other people play your course, or when you play other peoples courses… there’ll be popularity rankings for the most popular courses and things like that… so there’s a lot on the community side [that you can use].
Mario Maker showed incredible potential, but what was concerning was the missing confirmation of online features. Now that Miyamoto has confirmed that Mario Maker will have extensive online community, this title has moved up to be a must have for Wii U owners.
