Iwata Responds After Nintendo Digital Event Backlash

Last nights Nintendo Digital Event did not sit well with the fanbase. The general consensus is that the Nintendo Digital Event underwhelmed and failed to bring excitement that fans were expecting from them.

Moreover, a number of games from acclaimed franchises left negative impressions. To be frank, this years Digital Event has been a disaster.

It seems Nintendo and even Iwata has taken notice of the overwhelming displeasure of the presentation. President of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, has issued a statement regarding the criticism thrown around after broadcast.

Iwata has issued the following statement on Twitter:

[岩田]深夜まで、ご覧いただきありがとうございました。今年のDigital Eventに対する様々なご意見を真摯に受け止め、今後、より多くのみなさまのご期待にお応えできるように努めていきたいと思います

Which roughly translates to:

“Thank you for watching. We take opinions of this year’s Digital Event seriously and will work to better meet your expectations.”

Well it is rather unfortunate that this years E3 has left a bad taste in many fans mouth, especially against the lofty heights of last years showcase.

Only time will tell whether Nintendo can correct things.
