Is Ryu From Street Fighter Coming To Super Smash Bros. For Wii U/3DS?

The latest news from the rumor mill suggest that Ryu from the Street Fighter series could be coming to Super Smash Bros. For Wii U and 3DS in the form of DLC.

The modding team – Cutting Room Floor – has confirmed the discovery of sound files for Ryu in the coding of Super Smash Bros. For 3DS update.

The initially discoverers at Reddit was unsure whether the sound code was indeed for Ryu from Street Fighter and initially dismissed the file as unused file.

Meanwhile, some community members has suggested that it could be Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden series, considering that Koei Tecmo has a close relationship with Nintendo.

However – today – the team has confirmed that the files are indeed sounds for Ryu from Street Fighter.¬†The music is the soundtrack for Ryu’s stage in Street Fighter 2. You can check out the sound files at the Cutting Room Floor website.

It is important to note that this is not confirmation that Capcom’s fighting star will make an appearance, but its existence is heartening.
