E3 Prediction Part 2: Pokemon Z To Be Announced

Just a few more night sleeps before E3 is among and I’m sure that many Nintendo fans have their bodies ready for the digital event. Continuing from last weeks, I would like to make a second prediction for Nintendo’s Digital Event.

I confidently predict that Nintendo and GameFreak will announce Pokemon Z for the 3DS and will arrive by the holiday season.

I know this is not much of a prediction as it is pretty much a given that Pokemon Z or whatever Nintendo decides to call it.

Those who have played Pokemon X and Y can attest that there is unfinished business for generation 6. Mainly many felt that Yvettal and Xerneas story was comparably weak compared to the previous generation. Moreover, Zygarde and the leaked Volcanion has yet to be explored in either XY or in Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby.

Pokemon Z, like the directors cuts before it, can fix all the shortcoming of XY. Namely the plot issues, the lack of post-game content and the number legendary Pokemon. Fixing these issues will ensure that Gen 6 doesn’t end up as the most disappointing Pokemon generation.

Furthermore, from what we know now, the 3DS has no big holiday game to drive hardware sales. In fact, the second half of 2015 is looking sparse with only Animal Crossing: New Leaf being the only major exclusive announced thus far, unless I have missed something.

Having Pokemon Z for November or December will ensure that the 3DS will have a successfully Christmas period being a multi-million seller and all. Plus it could be a nifty title to incorporate Amiibo support, selling more of those highly desirable collectibles.

Clearly it is logical for Nintendo to announced Pokemon Z at E3. I’ll be surprised if they didn’t announce to be honest. What do you think? Are you expecting Pokemon Z at E3? Let me know by leaving a comment below!
